April Resolutions

It is not January anymore... but that does not mean I still can't make healthy life changes, right? I have recently joined Planet Fitness. At first it was to just use the 1 week free trial coupon I got in the mail "as a welcome to the neighborhood". Either I am the only one who got this coupon in the mail, or I am the only one willing to take advantage of anything free, because when I went to redeem the coupon, the manager did not even know what to do with it. I guess I am the only savvy one in my neighborhood. 


I made a resolution in 2014 to run a half marathon. 13.1 miles, ya'll! I did it and ran my first one in 2015, then again in 2016. I love it. But now that I have the whole cardio thing down, I want to focus on getting my body strong. And let me tell you guys: I AM WEAK. I have ZERO upper body strength. Like I saw once on a bumper sticker: A Strong Woman is a Healthy Woman. And who doesn't want to be healthy?


I guess the whole point of this post is to say that everyday should be a resolution, so why not start something you have been meaning to accomplish today? It doesn't have to be something like getting fit, or kicking a bad habit, but maybe something like reading more books, or learning to cook. Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in work and family, and not focus some time on yourself. So make today the day you do something new. Something that excites you. Something that you've always wanted to do. Don't wait until a new year for a new you! Start today!
